About Ordinary Fantasy

Meet The Ordinary Fantasy Staff!

JASMINE
“RAMBLEPAW”
CO-FOUNDER, LEAD DEVELOPER

When asked why Jasmine would want to do this it’s because she loves creating worlds and designing places that people could get lost in. Ordinary Fantasy to her is an oxymoron, fantasies are meant to be these amazing objects that are nothing ordinary. Yet at the same time, she feels that she can make these fantastical events in life ordinary through the worlds she creates in-game. As the lead developer, there isn’t a single part of the game development process she isn’t involved in, from programming to art, she has input over all aspects of the projects at ordinary fantasy as well as making sure deadlines are met. Jasmine enjoys many things in life, when she isn’t working or playing video games, she is making video games, teaching programming, or even creating robots that totally won’t take over the world.

CAITLIN
“MYSTIC-BLAT”
CO-FOUNDER
ART DIRECTOR, LEAD ANIMATOR

Caitlin has always had a passion for comics, video games, cartoons, and storytelling. For as long as she can remember, she's created characters, made fantasy worlds, and drawn various comics. There's something special in bringing ideas to life through art and animation, and video games add a whole new dimension with how audiences can interact with stories, characters, and fantasy worlds. Caitlin never gets tired of all these cool new possibilities. Plus, video games are fun!

DAKOTA
"Oni-Deity"
PRODUCER, LEAD PROGRAMER

Dakota is the lead programmer for Ordinary Fantasy. While he’s not making games, he is normally playing video games or playing D&D (He mostly plays warlocks). He has currently 4 years in IT experience, as well as some college schooling for coding, and a lifelong obsession with gaming and computers.

ALEXANDER
“SPACEY TURTLEZ”
ASSISTANT ARTIST, COMMUNITY MANAGER

Alex has always loved games and was happy to join along in the adventure of Ordinary Fantasy, first helping with art and then moving on to sound design and managing the social media sites. He enjoys making music, drawing, painting miniatures, tending to his garden, and walking his cat in his spare time. He likes turtles.

History of Ordinary Fantasy

How we got started:

"We should make a game together", is what Caitlin texted Jasmine one day in June, 2016.

With the addition of Alex, the team began their very first attempt at a game called RPGU; which was Caitlin's senior thesis project in college.

RPGU involved the player attending a college that allows the player to major in different RPG archetypes, with each one playing slightly differently in the game. Currently an unfinished game but we may revisit the concept later in the future!

Later we welcomed Dakota to the team as we started working more on becoming something official.

Since then we've worked on a minigame called Garden Escape, which is a Breakout style game where you try to escape a garden with the help of some Puffs (No Demo Available); and Extreme Tic Tac Toe, the classic old-school game with new twists, which can be found on our Games page!

Our main project now is Abbey Valley; where players try to grow their own abbey from a small parish to a large thriving community.

We'll be releasing more information about this game in the future so make sure you stay tuned for more updates and announcements in the future! You can follow us on social media for progress updates- and if you want to see behind-the-scenes content, or just want to support us while we work on these games, then consider supporting us on Patreon!
